Concept Art is the illustration of the ideas formed in the minds of writers, directors and visual effects supervisors. It is the task of the artist to listen to input from all the creatives involved, parse the information, and come up with illustrations that all agree captures the essence of what has been written in the script in the most convincingly real way as is possible. No small task. Consequently, it is a long and involved process, but also a very collaborative and fun one.

Much of the concept art in this section was done for the movie X Men 2. Cinesite hired me for the duration of the effects post-production at their facilities in Hollywood. I worked with the talented Lubo Hristov, art director for Cinesite, and Stephen Rosenbaum, the accomplished Visual Effects Supervisor. Closer to completion I also got to work with the film’s overall VFX Supervisor, Mike Fink. All were a pleasure towork with and it was a great start in the film business.

The images here are but a small sampling of the huge number of illustrations and final production art I created for the film over a seven month period.

The other concept art is a variety of work done for TV commercials and a little of my own, done just for fun.
